Scheidbare werkwoorden
Verbs like opbellen and meenemen that break in two, with the first piece landing at the end of the sentence.
These are the ordinary verbs of daily admin — opbellen, meenemen, invullen, aankomen, opsturen, meesturen — so an A2 message can hardly avoid them. The rule is mechanical: in a main clause the prefix goes to the end, and everything else in the sentence sits between the two halves. The difficulty is that the two halves can end up eight words apart, and the prefix is the piece that gets forgotten.
How the exam tests this
Schrijven, handwritten. Every task about arranging something produces one of these verbs: filling in a form is invullen, sending it back is opsturen, calling about it is opbellen. A dropped prefix is not a small error — bel u morgen and bel u morgen op are different verbs, and the marker reads the sentence you wrote. In Lezen the same split hides the instruction: `Vult u het formulier volledig in` puts the verb's meaning in the last word of the sentence.
