Lezen

Detailvraag

A question about one stated point inside a longer text — the largest block of marks on Lezen I.

maar, echter, toch
The point is after this word, not before it. Options are built from before it.
vooral, meestal, doorgaans
A limited claim. An option saying altijd or iedereen has quietly removed the limit.
volgens X, X stelt dat
Attributed, not asserted. The question may ask what the writer thinks, not what X said.
bijvoorbeeld, zo
What follows is an illustration. An option made of the illustration answers a question nobody asked.
alleen, uitsluitend, behalve
A restriction that most options ignore. Find who or what is excluded.

Grammatica

Bijzin

After omdat, dat, als or terwijl the verb slides to the end of the clause.

Ik kom later omdat de trein vertraging heeft.
One verb: it goes to the very end, behind everything else in the clause.
Ik weet dat hij morgen niet kan komen.
Two verbs stack at the end together. Neither of them moves forward.
Als u een klacht heeft, kunt u contact met ons opnemen.
A subordinate clause in front counts as slot 1, so the main clause after the comma starts with its verb.
Hij belde terwijl ik aan het werk was.
Terwijl and voordat behave exactly like omdat. It is the type of word that matters, not the meaning.

Er

One small word doing four different jobs, none of which translates.

Er is een probleem met mijn bestelling.
Existence. The sentence cannot start with een probleem; er holds the front for it.
Ik werk er al drie jaar.
Place, standing in for a location already named. It replaces daar when the place is old information.
Ik heb er twee nodig.
Number. With a quantity and no noun, er is required, not optional.
Ik ben er niet tevreden over.
Preposition. Over what? Over something already mentioned. Er and the preposition may split across the sentence.

Schrijven

Deeltaak

A task where part of the text is already there and you supply the missing part — a form to complete, a message with gaps, a text to add to.

Achternaam: / Geboortedatum: / Postcode:
A field wants a value, not a sentence. One word or one number, in the format the field implies.
Reden van uw verzoek:
This field does want a sentence. Field labels tell you which kind; read the label, not the box size.
Geachte … → u, uw
The given opening fixes the address form for everything you add. Switching to je halfway is a marked error.
… schreef ik u … → verleden tijd
The given tense carries on. If the fragment is in the past, your addition stays there.
Niet van toepassing / n.v.t.
A field that does not apply to you still needs something in it. Blank reads as unanswered.
