What are you asked?

≈35–36 multiple-choice questions across roughly 6 texts; scored on a scaled norm.

Pass rule: Scaled score ≥ 500 per part, set by CvTE. A mock approximates this and labels the result an estimate.

How to practise this part

  • 1

Read the question first, then the text. You are hunting one specific fact, not reading for pleasure.

  • 2

The answer is always literally in the text. Never choose based on what you know about the Netherlands.

  • 3

Keep an eye on the clock. If a question stalls you, skip it and come back.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a dictionary?
No. Dictionaries, phones and translation apps are banned in every part of the exam, which is why you practise without them here too.
What if I don't know a word?
Read on. The questions test whether you understand the text, not whether you know every word — you can usually find the answer without that one word.
