How long does it take to get your result?

If you take the inburgering exam, every A2 language part and KNM comes back within 8 weeks. For Staatsexamen NT2 the result appears in Mijn DUO after about 5 weeks. You are only finished when your last result arrives — and before that there was already a six-week wait for an exam slot.

Check online, not the letterbox
For inburgering you get the result by letter and in Mijn Inburgering (log in with DigiD). For Staatsexamen NT2 it appears in Mijn DUO after about five weeks, with the exact day and time listed in the exam timetable.
The wait before the exam counts too
- Booking to a slot: **6 weeks or more**.
- Waiting for the result: **8 weeks** for inburgering, **about 5 weeks** for NT2.
- Need a resit? That clock starts again.
For Spreken the wait for a slot can run longer still: after fraud in 2025 the CvTE deliberately runs fewer Spreken exams.
What this means for you
- Book as soon as you know you want the exam; the slot is the longest wait, not the result.
- Log in to Mijn Inburgering or Mijn DUO; the result is there before the letter.
- Keep practising while you wait, so you can resit straight away.

Letter or online?
Both. Online usually appears first.
Do I retake everything if I fail one part?
No. You resit that part only; passed parts stay valid.
When do I get my NT2 diploma?
Once you have passed all four parts, DUO sends the diploma by registered post within 4 weeks.
Waiting is lost time if you do nothing with it. Practise at exam length while your result is on its way.
