Luisteren: hoofdgedachte
A question about the one point of the whole fragment — why this message, announcement or conversation exists.
The question asks Wat is de belangrijkste boodschap? or Waar gaat dit over? Every sentence in a short fragment is true, so every option can sound right. The difficulty is not understanding the Dutch — it is sorting what you heard into one main point and the details that serve it: a reason, a time, a platform, a polite line, what to do next.
How the exam tests this
The A2 Luisteren part is multiple choice on short audio fragments — voicemails, announcements at the station or in a shop, directions in the street — and it is computer-marked. For a main-idea question, the wrong options are the details of the same fragment: the reason (de tandarts is ziek), the time and platform, the polite closing (onze excuses), the instruction for afterwards (terugbellen). They are all true. Only one option says why the speaker started talking. We have six of these items in our A2 bank.
