Reading a form or a confirmation letter — what it is for, what it costs, when the appointment is, what you must fill in.
5 of our A2 reading items carry this code. A form is half empty lines (Naam: ____) and half real sentences — an instruction at the top, a price or a day at the bottom. The empty lines carry no information at all, yet they take up most of the page and pull the eye. The answers sit in the few full sentences around them, and those are the lines a candidate skims because the page looks like something to fill in, not something to read.
How the exam tests this
Part of Lezen, computer-marked, four options. The forms are everyday ones: an inschrijfformulier for the library, an aanmeldformulier for swimming lessons, a reparatieformulier from the housing corporation, an afspraakbevestiging from the GP. The questions ask what the form is for, what it costs, when something happens, or what you must fill in. The wrong options are built from the form's other facts: the price for the other group, the wrong unit (per maand for per jaar), two numbers from different sentences glued into one date, or a question printed on the form turned into an answer.
