Open schrijfopdracht
A short email or letter of 40–60 words, written from a prompt that names three things it must contain.
The largest of the four Schrijven tasks and the one with the clearest marking scheme: the prompt lists what the letter must contain, and each listed point is either there or it is not. Fluent Dutch that covers two of the three points scores below plain Dutch that covers all three. The task is not a test of how well you write — it is a test of whether you answered the instruction you were given.
How the exam tests this
Part of Schrijven: four tasks in 40 minutes, handwritten on paper, marked by assessors rather than by computer. The prompt names a reader (a friend, a school, a landlord) and then names three things to write about — often one of them a question you must ask. A length is given, typically 40–60 words. Assessors look for the named content, for a text a Dutch reader could act on, and for the register the reader implies. Mistakes in spelling and endings cost far less than a missing point.
