Middellange tekst: probleem en oplossing
A connected text of about 100 to 160 words to a gemeente, a residents' association or a manager: describe a problem, say why it matters, and propose at least two concrete solutions with a reason for each.
Every one of these prompts has the same four demands: describe, explain why it matters, propose two or more solutions, and support each one. The first two are easy because they are about something you have seen. The last two are where the text is won, and they are where most candidates run short — of words, of time, and of the one sentence after each proposal that says why it would work.
How the exam tests this
Schrijven II ends with one or two medium-length tasks among its 9–12, marked by two assessors against a scheme. Our 9 problem-and-solution tasks all ask for 100–160 words. The scheme asks four questions: are all the requested parts worked out, is the text built with an introduction, a body and a close, are proposals supported rather than merely named, and is the vocabulary varied and fitting for B2. A solution without a reason fails the third question even when it is a good solution.
