Doelgroep: voor wie?
Answering who a text is meant for — which reader, which age, which group — from the line where the text names them.
5 of our A2 reading items carry this code. Every ad or notice names its reader somewhere: a question to u at the top (Wilt u…?), a job it wants filled (zoekt een afwasser), the words bedoeld voor, or an age (vanaf vijf jaar, tot 18 jaar). The difficulty is that the text also names other people — the sender, a smaller group, a different age — and the wrong options are built from them.
How the exam tests this
Part of Lezen, computer-marked, four options. The question is Voor wie is deze advertentie bedoeld?, Voor wie is het taalcafé bedoeld? or an age question (Vanaf welke leeftijd…?, Hoeveel kost een lidmaatschap voor een kind van 12 jaar?). The wrong options come in three kinds: the sender instead of the reader (Voor het restaurant dat een afwasser zoekt), a smaller group made by adding a word from elsewhere in the text (Mensen die gratis Nederlands willen leren, Alleen voor beginners), and the price or age of the other group.
